**This is a second hand story that I found it useful to share**
As soon as I learned that my son was interested in joining the military, I knew we would both have to be prepared to face the challenges that come with military service.
My son has always wanted to do something for his country, but he’d have to really challenge himself to go out of his comfort zone and accomplish something like that.
We often freeze up with worry when we consider the fact that our children may face difficult and even dangerous situations in their life. How do we face this juncture in our life with the courage and tenacity to see it through?
Praying and singing praises to God gave me the strength to face each new day with optimism. While I couldn’t be there physically, I had faith that God would watch after my son.
My son served in the military for many years, and I prayed to God often during those years for his protection.
I wish that these motivational verses in the Bible may aid you in your prayers for your Soldier and encourage you to offer him or her even more love and support.
Proverbs 3:5:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
This motivational verse from the bible says It’s easy to give up or give in to fear when you’re trying to achieve things that are much beyond your comfort zone. Your prayers for your soldier’s strength, wisdom, and God’s favour, especially in the first few weeks of training, will do more than you can imagine to help him or her succeed.
Joshua 1:9:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
All I could do for my son when it came time to send him to a distant nation full with danger was love, support, and pray. The Lord may be a source of inspiration for your loved one, giving them the fortitude they need to make good decisions and face each difficulty with faith and courage. This motivational verse in the bible is mostly related towards courage.
Psalm 18-2:
“The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
A few time after he and his new bride finished military training, they were on their way to their first overseas assignment. As it turned out, their first vacation abroad was great, difficult, and gratifying. They were in a foreign land, without any close family members to lean on, and so they had to rely on God to provide the stability they needed. This motivational verse in the bible points out the responses of apprehension and doubt to the unknown and potentially dangerous conditions that life presents are very reasonable. However, God gives us a safe haven where we may find peace despite the storms of life.
Psalm 31:14-16:
“But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me. Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love.”
My thoughts and prayers were directed on erecting a wall of defence around my son while he was serving his country elsewhere in the globe. We are able to cultivate a connection with God, trust in Him, and rest in His love, all while being aware that He is looking out for our best interests.
Psalm 56:3-4:
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
This motivational verse from the bible is for during deployments, I was aware that my kid was putting himself in potentially hazardous circumstances. I asked the Lord to shield my kid from anxiety and give him the strength to face anything he faced with bravery, and I prayed to him every day. God comes through for us in times of need and is much above anything that we might be afraid of.
John 14:27:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
There is no limit to the worries that might lead our thoughts to locations that we would prefer not visit because we are military mothers. God equips us with the power we need to enjoy the type of serenity that only He can provide when we have confidence that cannot be shaken, this is clearly stated in this motivational verse in the bible. Having faith in Him opens the door to happiness and tranquilly.
Isaiah 41:10:
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
How many times have I ventured outside of my normal routine in order to get a perspective that is broader than my own? There are far too many to count. I never stopped praying that my kid would perceive God as his helper which is mentioned in this motivational verse from the bible, that he would experience God’s mighty protection, and that he would bathe in God’s grace.
Exodus 14:14:
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
The path my son took through the military was replete with high points, significant achievements, and difficult tests. I tried to strengthen his belief in the Lord. I prayed that he would centre his attention on God rather than the concerns that were keeping him up at night. Spend some time in silence, prayer, and praise with the person you care about so they may better appreciate how difficult circumstances can have a silver lining.
